Creating well-rounded people through music

Every year this orchestra grows from strength to strength, climbing insurmountable heights, which is pretty impressive for an orchestra who just passed 5 years. The orchestra was founded in 2011 by a very eager group of students who believed that the medical campus of Stellenbosch University could and should have their own orchestra. With the help of Prof. Corvin Matei of the music department, the orchestra was founded and led by Jason Rodriguez, who served as resident conductor of the orchestra until Reghardt Kühn took over from 2014.

This amazing orchestra caters for medical students and qualified doctors and teaching staff, and is the only orchestra of its kind in Africa.
